Daniel C. Kurtzer, the new ambassador to Israel!

We say Shalom to you from courtesy reasons, but we do not welcome you to our country.

From the very beginning of your appointment to our country you have shown us, the people of Israel, some bad manners which ambassador must avoid of them: interfering our internal affairs, declaring that "the settlements are obstacle for Peace". Don't misunderstand us, Mr. Kurtzer! Your being an Orthodox Jew shall not avoid any of us to tell you that you are not welcome here, neither to criticize the decision of the US State Department to send you here, especially because of your being biased for "SHALOM ACHSHAV" (Peace Now movement). We will watch your service here suspiciously and with great concern to our future. And finally, Mr. Ambassador, remember the words of Menahem Begin to the USA ambassador to Israel when you will try again to interfere our internal affairs: "Israel shall not be a BANANA's Republic of the USA".

אני אומר לך שלום לך אדוני השגריר מטעמי נימוס, אך לא אוכל לברכך "ברוך הבא לארצנו". מהרגע הראשון שבו הגעת לארצנו הנך נוהג בחוסר נימוס ומתערב בנושאים שעל שגריר להימנע מהם: להתערב בענייננו הפנימיים ולהצהיר בחוצפה חסרת תקדים "שההתנחלויות הן מכשול לשלום".אל תבין אותנו שלא נכון! היותך יהודי אורתודוקסי לא תמנע מאתנו לומר לך שאינך רצוי כאן, כשם,שלא תמנע מאתנו לבקר את החלטת מחלקת המדינה של ארה"ב למנותך לשגריר אולי בשל היותך מוטה לטובת הדעות של "שלום עכשיו".אנחנו בישראל נבחן בחשד ובחששות את שרותך כאן כשגריר. לסיום, אדוני השגריר ברצוני להזכיר לך את דבריו של מנחם בגין לשגריר ארה"ב בעת שהתערב שהתערב בענייניה הפנימיים של ישראל: "ישראל לא תהיה רפובליקת בננות של ארה"ב".
